Shirley M. (Bowdridge) Hubbard of Melrose, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family & friends. Born on August 3, 1931 in Melrose, the youngest daughter of Thomas & Gladys (Nickerson) Bowdridge. She was raised in Melrose, Everett and Malden, graduating from Malden High School. Mrs. Hubbard was a homemaker and a Melrose resident since 1992. She loved her family, reading, going out to lunch with her cousins and lighthouses. She was the devoted wife of the late Gordon H. Hubbard with whom they shared 51 years of marriage. She was the caring sister of Gertrude Cady of Virginia & the late Arthur, Ralph, George Bowdridge & Harriette Robson. Also survived by 13 loving nieces, nephews, several great nieces, nephews & great, great nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, May 5th at 12 Noon. Graveside service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elm St. Everett at 12:30PM. Visitation from 10AM-12PM in the funeral home.
