Shirley B. Murphy, 84, died at Mass General Hospital Boston on Tuesday March 13th. She was born and raised in Woburn, graduated from Howett High School in Woburn and was longtime Melrose resident. She was the 1st women memberof the Graphic Art Union Local # 648 of Boston and was a Lithographer at Litco Printing Co. and R&T Printing Co, both of S.Boston, for over 30 yrs. retiring in 1974.She was the wife of the late John J. Murphy, Mother of Howard Murphy of Stratham, NH and Ernest B. Murphy of Dover MA. Sister of Ivy A. Brown of Stoneham and the late Lillian Montville and Daniel Bain. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. Shirley's wishes were to have no funeral services. Arrangements by the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St Melrose.
