Stanley A. Grant Jr. son of the late Barbara M. (Fortier) and Stanley A. Ron Grant Sr. Born and raised in Melrose, Mr. Grant was a second generation printer for over 40 years and owner of Grant Printing Company, INC. of Malden, formerly of Melrose. Stanley was a member of the Malden Chamber of Commerce, Boston Lithographers, and Unlimited Business Exchange. A humble man known for his good nature, quick wit, and compassionate heart, Mr. Grant was also known to readily contribute his time, talent and professional services to numerous charitable organizations and worthwhile events. Stan remained active in the printing industry until his health necessitated his retirement in 2000. A loyal New England sports fan, in particular, a diehard Red Sox fan, Mr. Grant was also an avid camper and an accomplished skier who spent time in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed Bostons own Spenser For Hire. He lived in Melrose most of his life and the past 24 years in Boxford. Stanley is survived by his wife Cathie (Catherine Kenney) with whom he shared 31 years of marriage, and his children Jessica J. of West Palm Beach, FL, John M. and David A. both of Boxford. He was also the father of the late Barbara Ruth & Stan Adam Grant. Also surviving Mr. Grant are his sisters and their families; Mary Jo & Paul Hogan of Norwell, Kathleen & Robert Johnson of Burlington, and Elizabeth Moon of Burlington. As well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews. Nephew of John & Virginia Fortier of Wolfeboro, NH, Mary & Arlan Fuller, Sr. of Melrose, Dora Kimball & Lucille Grant of Fulton, NY and Lilly Davis of FL. Stanley is survived by his many loyal and loving cousins - all of whom meant the world to him, all of whom he held dear to his heart. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Marys Church, 94 Andover St. Georgetown, on Tues. March 27th at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00PM. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
