Obituary

Stephen D. Bowman passed away at his home in Everett on February 18, 2019. He was only 53 years of age. Stephen was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, lived most of his life in Melrose and the past 20 years in Everett. Mr. Bowman was a professional drummer by trade, playing in several bands throughout his life. He also worked for several recording studios in the Boston area, playing the drums for bands coming to the studio to record their music. Music was Stephen's life, whether it was recording music, playing music, or attending concerts, especially "Yes" concerts. He was also a diehard New England Patriots fan. He loved all of his brothers & sisters, nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews, family members and friends. Stephen is survived by his best friend and beloved mother Lorraine (Doucette) Bowman. Loving brother of Elizabeth Hudson & her husband Roy of Billerica, Tom Bowman & his wife Teri of North Andover, Diane Dion & her fiancé Don of Melrose, Donna Tully & her husband George of Leominster, Kathleen Brown & her husband Richard of Hampstead, NH and the Late Joseph Bowman, Debra Jean Bowman and Ricky Bowman. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 4:00-8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 26th at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
