Stephen Hatfield passed away on November 7, 2007; he was 49 years of age. Stephen was born in Melrose, raised in Saugus, graduated from Saugus High School, the North Shore Community College; where he was president of his class and was involved in politics. Mr. Hatfield then graduated from Suffolk University with an undergraduate degree and masters degree in business administration. Stephen was a lifelong resident of Saugus, was a member of St. Margarets Church in Saugus and served as a lector for a few years. He worked in the social service department for the State of Massachusetts, he taught advertising at North Shore Community College and worked in the telecommunication industry. Stephen enjoyed carpentry, like to watch old movies and loved the outdoors. Mr. Hatfield was the son of Agnes (Gilmartin) Hatfield & the late Stanley E. Hatfield. Brother of Stanley E. Hatfield, Diane M. Hatfield both of Saugus and Mary Ellen Leitl of Winchendon. Uncle of Matthew, Sarah & Kathleen Hatfield, James & Jennifer Leitl. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. Nov.13th, at 9:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Margarets Church, 431 Lincoln Ave. Saugus, at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM. Interment in Riverside Cemetery in Saugus.
