Susan Lee (Schoonover) Mahnken died on March 27, 2024, in peace, and with her family.

She was born in Rochester, N.Y. on June 16, 1949. She left Rochester to attend Marietta College, in Ohio, and later attended New England School of Law, and Boston University Law School graduate tax program. Later, she attended Simmons College where she received a degree in Library Science.

Susan worked in tax law for about 20 years, and left that profession to become an Interlibrary Loan Librarian for about 20 years at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where she leaves many friends.

Susan especially enjoyed reading, decorating for holidays, and sharing thoughts and humor with friends and family. Cooking and baking were also favorite hobbies. She spent many years vacationing on Cape Cod with family.

Her parents were William and Leonore Schoonover of Rochester, New York. She leaves her husband Mark, and sons David Mahnken and Kevin Mahnken, and daughter Amy (Mahnken) Murphy. Her young grandchildren are Mark, Everett, and James Mahnken, of Ringe, New Hampshire, and Kieran Murphy of New Orleans, Louisiana. She leaves daughters-in-law Jamie Mahnken and Kathleen Borgueta, and son-in law Danny Murphy.

She was endeared to those who knew her. Wives, and mothers, like Susan, are the heart of a family. We are thankful for her life.
