Teresa M. (Manzo) Scarpa , of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on June 12, 2011 at the age of 88. Teresa was born & raised in East Boston, and a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1941. She was a homemaker and resided in Melrose since 1948. Teresa enjoyed cooking, music, talk radio, Suze Orman and all current events. She loved to spend her summers at the Scarpa family summer camp "Scarpa Villa" and spending time with her children & grandchildren. Teresa always had a good memory and was a great storyteller that always had a life lesson. She was a member of the Incarnation Church and St. Mary's Church in Melrose for many years. Teresa was the beloved wife of the late John D. Scarpa for 36 years. Loving mother of John A. Scarpa & his wife Denise of Ipswich and Denise M. Alexander & her husband Paul of Wakefield. Cherished grandmother of Leigh & Christina Brown, Samantha, John "Jack" & Josie Scarpa, Sean & Nicolette Alexander. Caring great grandmother of Jocelyn Rose. Devoted sister of Marie LaBella, Carmella Cedrone, Jean Adamo and the late Elisa Cella, Salvatore Manzo, Peter Manzo and Rose Manzo. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday June 18th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
