Teresa M. (Gennetti) Smith passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on June 9, 2015. She was 85 years of age. Teresa was born in Malden on January 14, 1930 and was one of ten children of the late Salvatore & Marianina (Radoccio) Gennetti. She was raised in Malden, graduated from Malden High School and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 50 years. Mrs. Smith worked as a hair stylist for 20 years and owned and operated Terry's House of Beauty in Melrose. After she retired, Teresa continued to work out of her home in Melrose. She was a very loving and nurturing person who loved to take care of her family and friends. As an avid walker, you could see Teresa walking all over Melrose and she always had a very warm greeting to everyone she met. She loved to cook and thoroughly enjoyed all her summer vacations at Cape Cod in west Dennis. Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Smith. Former wife of the late Frederick G. Capodilupo. Cherished mother of Giustino Capodilupo of Ridgefield, CT. Loving grandmother of Francesca & Gianna Capodilupo of Ridgefield, CT. Devoted sister of Salvatore "Butch" Gennetti and Nancy (Gennetti) Cagno both of Malden and the late Daniel, Edmund, Henry Gennetti, Jean Sacco, Anna Puleo, Edith Falcone and Mary Giarratana. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, June 16th from 4:00-7:00PM. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17th at 9AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at the Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
