Teresa F. (McGreal) "Frances" Tully passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Friday, February 21, 2014. She was 85 years of age. Teresa was born in County Mayo Ireland on May 24, 1928 to the late John & Margaret (Connaghan) McGreal, she was raised in Ireland and came to the United States after WWII at the age of 21. She lived in East Boston, Chelsea for a few years, Saugus & Everett for many years and the past 14 years in Melrose. Mrs. Tully worked for John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston in the record services division for 20 years. Teresa enjoyed knitting, doing the Sunday crossword puzzle, reading the newspaper cover to cover every day and was an avid bird watcher. She loved to cook and bake and spending time at her cottage in Danville, NH. Most of all she loved taking care of her seven children. Teresa was the wife of the late James J. Tully (Retired USN). Devoted mother of James J. Tully & his wife Maureen of Peabody, Dennis Tully & his wife Debbie of Danvers, Barbara Peterson of Ipswich, Paul Tully of Melrose, Maureen Kotsiroplos & her husband Charlie of NH, Sheila Tully of Melrose and Sean Tully of CA. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Teresa was preceded in death by her 9 brothers & sisters. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday, February 25th at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4:00-8:00PM. Burial at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
