Theodore F. Perrotti, Sr., of Melrose, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on June 1, 2023, at the age of 91.
Ted spent his early years living in Revere before moving to Orchard Lane in Melrose to play football for Melrose High School graduating in 1950. Ted worked in the family business at Perrotti Sales and Service in Revere. He would then go on to own his own garage, Ted Perrotti and Son on Lebanon St. in Malden. Ted was proud of his time teaching Auto Motive Technology at Wentworth Institute of Technology. If it had a motor, Ted loved it. He would go through life taking an interest in boating and fishing, classic automobiles, snowmobiles, photography, ham radio, woodworking and shared a love of motorcycles with his sons. Later traveling the US with Barbara as a member of the RV group the Clam Diggers and serving up his famous eggplant parm. Anyone who knew Ted knew his love of aviation, flying and antique aircraft. Ted was exposed to flying at a young age by his father. Ted and his brother Carmen would ultimately go on to own over 30 aircraft. Ted was a member of Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis, a lifetime member of both the Melrose Fish and Game Club and the Quit Birdman Boston Hangar.
Beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Harkins) Perrotti. Loving father of Theodore Perrotti, Jr. of Lynn, Linda Corso & her late husband Matthew of Haverhill, Richard Perrotti and his significant other Stacey Bennick of Nazareth, PA, Donald Perrotti & his wife Kim and David Perrotti & his wife Mary Kate, all of Melrose & the late Stephen Perrotti. Proud grandfather of Stephen Jr., Jennifer, Joseph, Bryan, Nicholas, Matthew, Andrea, Tori, Natashia and Ava. Great grandfather of Matthew Jr., Stella, Timothy, Cayden, Amelia and Brynlee. Caring brother of the late Carmen Perrotti, Jr., & his wife Eileen of ME and the late Robert Perrotti. Also survived by relatives & friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 10:00AM-11:00AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
