Theresa M. (Carroll) Porreca died after a long illness at Harborside Healthcare in Wakefield March 26th at the age of 78. She was born in Boston, raised in Charlestown, lived in Wakefield & Peabody for many years and the past 12yrs in Melrose. Theresa worked as a waitress at the Kernwood Restaurant in Lynnfield for over 20yrs. She also worked at the Yankee Fisherman Restaurant in Boston for a few years and she was an avid bingo player. Theresa was the former wife of the late Joseph Porreca. Loving mother of Linda M. Shannon & her husband Edward of Danvers and Laura J. Younis & her husband Gregory of N.Reading. Beloved sister of Margaret Roberts of Melrose and the late Alfred, Henry, Jeremiah, Mary Carroll, Catherine LaPlante & Anna Foster. Sister-in-law of Frances Carroll of Melrose. Grandmother of Daniel Shannon of VA, Lisa Shannon of Danvers and Derek Younis of N.Reading. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday March 29th at 9 AM. Followed by a Blessing in St. Marys Church Herbert St. Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs. 4-8 PM.
