Therese Marie Norton passed away unexpectedly in Arizona on October 11,2006, she was 46. Therese was born in Malden, raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School in Melrose & Girls Catholic High School in Malden and was a member of Girls Catholic High School Alumni. She worked for the Middlesex Fells Nursing Home in Melrose for several years and then for the Transitron Company in Melrose before moving to Brockton. Miss Norton lived in Brockton for 10 years, while in Brockton she did volunteer work at the Life Care Center & Baypoint Rehab Center. After moving to Arizona 7 years ago, Therese continued her volunteer work at the ESC Charter School; a school for under privileged children. She was the daughter of George F. & Mary T. (Bailot) Norton of Melrose. Sister of Mary Lou DeRosa of Saugus, Nancy M. Melanson of Melrose, George A. Norton of Newburyport, Jeanne M. Norton of Melrose & Judy M. Hicks of Derry, NH. Aunt of Katie, Alex, Justin, Andrew & Mary. Also survived by her devoted friend Betty Jenkins of AZ and several aunts, uncles & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. October 17th at 10AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM.
