Obituary

Thomas J. Crowley, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on January 12, 1944, to the late Thomas and Frances Crowley, Thomas's life was marked by his passion for sports, his dedication to his career, and the deep bonds he formed with his family and friends.

Thomas grew up in a close-knit family and is survived by his loving sisters, Janet Curry of Palm Springs, CA, and Susan Rubin of Rockport, MA. He was a beloved cousin to Edna Louis of Chula Vista, CA, and a treasured uncle to his nephews, Alan Rubin of Ipswich, MA, John Curry of Scottsdale, AZ, and Scott Curry of Encinitas, CA. His legacy will live on through his three great-nephews and five great-nieces.

A man of many talents and interests, Thomas was an avid golfer and a long-time member of the Haverhill Country Club, where he spent many happy hours on the greens. His love for sports was not limited to golf; he was a proud Melrose High School Boys Hockey Varsity Letterman, celebrating the team's victory in the 1962 State & New England Championships. This achievement was later honored with an induction into the Melrose High School Athletics Hall of Fame, a testament to his skill and sportsmanship.

Thomas's passion for hockey continued beyond high school as he played for Michigan State University, contributing to the team's success in the 1966 NCAA Men's Hockey National Championship. His knowledge and love for the game led him to a role as a scout for the Toronto Maple Leaf's, where he shared his expertise and keen eye for talent.

Professionally, Thomas dedicated many years as an Account Executive for Educational Literature, where he was respected for his integrity, work ethic, and the relationships he built with colleagues and clients alike. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his commitment to his friends, including Biff Moriarty of Andover, MA, and Bob Christianson of Melrose, MA, who stood by him through the many seasons of life.

As we say goodbye to Thomas J. Crowley, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of accomplishments, laughter, and love. His memory will continue to be a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him. Thomas's life story is one of passion, perseverance, and the power of enduring friendships. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends, and his spirit will forever be a part of the lives he touched.
