Obituary

Thomas E. Doucette, 96, died at Windham Hospital in Windham CT on June 26th after a brief illness. He was born in Wilmington MA, raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School Class of 1923 and Northeastern University Class of 1927. Thomas lived most of his life in Melrose and enjoyed wintering in Miami Springs FL. Thomas was an electrical engineer for American Totalizator of Baltimore MD, now Amcote Co.of Hunt Valley MD., for over 35 years. He had lived in Framingham for 30 years before moving to Connecticut four years ago. His artistic talents included making and playing musical instruments as a young man to making and painting plaster figures and also enjoyed photography. Thomas was the husband of the late Martha ( O'Neil ) Doucette and the late Agnes ( Cawley ) Doucette. Father of Barry T. Doucette and his wife Mary Ann ( Wallace ) Doucette of Mansfield Center, CT. Grandfather of Judy Roy, Jean Main and Ann Donahue all of Ct. Brother of Miriam Sheridan of Melrose and the late Alma, Alvin and Jeanette Doucette, the late Charles Doucette, the late Rev Bernard Doucette, S.J.. Brother-in-law of Elizabeth Contreas of Melrose and Sr. Eileen Cawley of Baltimore. Also survived by 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St, Melrose on Saturday June 29 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St, Wakefield at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Fri 7 - 9 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
