Thomas F. Hazard Jr. passed away at the Caritas St. Elizabeths Medical Center, in Boston, on June 25, 2006, he was 61 years of age. Tom was born in Cambridge, raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. Mr. Hazard was in the US Army for 20 years, serving 3 tours of duty in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star. After his discharge from the Army, he worked as a dispatcher for the Stoneham Police Department for the last 9 years and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 21 years. Tom was a former little league coach in Somerville and a member of the VFW Harold OYoung Post #2394 in Melrose. Mr Hazard was the much loved husband of Marsha J. (Sopas) Hazard. Loving father of Barbara J. Hazard of Melrose. Son-in-law of Barbara & Ernest Cravinho of Winchester. Brother-in-law of Barbara DiSarcina of Arlington. Uncle of Paul DiSarcina of Winchester. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thurs. June 29th at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 4-8PM. Interment will be private.
