Thomas J. Maiuri, of Gloucester, formerly of Melrose, died unexpectedly at the Saints Medical Center in Lowell on Aug. 23rd at the age of 45. Tom was born in Revere, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1981. He was a member for many years & Past Exalted Ruler of the Melrose Elks Lodge. Tom was the Skipper of the Lady Ashley Sport Fishing Charters in Gloucester for many years and participated in many Shark & Tuna fishing tournaments. He held his Captain's license and was certified for up to 100-foot vessels and built his own boat from scratch. Tom was an Electronics Technician for Central Communications in Hopedale for 10 years and owned RTS Technology in Tewksbury for several years. He was the husband of Jessie C. (Luongo) Maiuri of Tewksbury. Devoted father of Robert T. Maiuri & Ashley A. Maiuri. Caring son of Dorothy & Paul Finer of Hudson and Vincent Maiuri of Malden. Loving brother of Vincent Maiuri of Cape Cod, Barbara Finer of Paris and Gail Blacklock of CA. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday Aug. 28th from 4-8PM followed by a prayer service at 8PM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited.
