Thomas W. McFarland passed away at his home in Melrose, on December 23, 2006, he was 85. Tom was born in Cambridge, raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. After high school he entered the US Navy and was a WWII Navy Veteran. Mr. McFarland worked for the New England Telephone Company for 31 years, retiring in 1987. Tom was a devoted family man and enjoyed playing the guitar. He is survived by his beloved wife Muriel E. (DeMers) McFarland. Devoted father of Muriel L. Fallon & her husband Richard of Malden, Thomas W. McFarland & his wife Peggy of Winchester, Patricia M. Stornanti & her husband Frank of Medford, Mary L. McFarland of ME, Stephen J. McFarland & his wife Virginia of Groton, Kevin A. McFarland & his wife Cynthia of TX and the late Kathleen A. McFarland. Brother of Mary Hutchins of NH & Martha Draper of Malden. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews. Funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. Dec. 27th at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 3-7PM. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
