Thomas E. Spartichino, 71, died at home Wednesday morning Jan. 10,2001 after a lengthy illness. He was born and raised in Cambridge, he served in U.S. Marine Corp in China in 1948 &1949. He was a Metropolitan District Policeman from 1958 until he entered the Mass State Police in 1972. He served in the State Police for 21 yrs ,was one of the top investigators for the State Police and he retired in 1993 as a Lt Col. Tom lived in Melrose formost of his life and Lynnfield the past 6yrs. He was a parishioner at our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield and a former member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose and a member of the Harold o. Young Post # 2394 VFW. Tom was the husband of the late Ann C. ( McLaughlin ) Spartichino. Father of Susan A. & husband Joseph Sullivan of Burlington and Debra J. & her husband James Rodden of York, ME. Grandfather of Brian, Thomas, Daniel, Joseph, Brendan & Sean. Loving partner of Mary M. Connor and her 3 children Noreen & Jeff Connor and Kara & her husband Douglas Angelone. Brother of Helen Stephens & Doreen Perrotti both of Lowell, Sandra Rosenthal of Nashua NH and Katherine MacLean of Burlington. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Sat Jan 13 at 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption, 758 Salem St, Lynnfield,at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited.
