Obituary

Timothy G. Byrne, of Derry, NH, formerly of Melrose, died at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH on August 12, 2015 at the age of 55. Tim was born in Winchester & raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1977. He went on to earn his degree from University of Massachusetts and his Master's degree from Emerson College. Tim worked in Human Services for Easter Seals & May Institute in Revere and volunteered for the Special Olympics & many animal rights groups. He loved all animals and especially his pigs, cats, chickens and dogs. Tim enjoyed spending his time in the outdoors camping & hiking. He was the devoted son of the late Joseph M. & Patricia A. (Convery) Byrne. Caring brother of Juliana M. Lemp of Newbury, Maria Hutchings, Patrice Wharem & her husband Dave Dutil, all of NH, Vincent R. Byrne & his wife Joanne of Saugus and the late J. Michael Byrne, Jr. Also survived by 9 beloved nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, August 19th from 9:30-10:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tim's memory to NHSPCA, 104 Portsmouth Ave., Stratham, NH 03885 or Special Olympics of Mass. 210 Broadway, Suite 107, S. Lynnfield, MA 01940.
