Obituary

Vasiliki 'Bessie' (Coulouras) Gianoukos died at Woburn Nursing Center after a long illness on Dec. 19th at the age of 90. She was born and raised in Gianeiki, Greece, she lived most of her life in the West End of Boston and the past 6 yrs in Woburn. Bessie was a homemaker and a co-owner of her father's restaurant, Harvard Gardens by Mass. General Hospital, for many years. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Boston and a member of the Philoptohos Society at the cathedral. Bessie was the wife of the late Charles P. Gianoukos. Mother of Peter C. Gianoukos & his wife Jeanne of Wakefield and Jo Ann G. Misail & her husband Gus of Stoneham. Sister of the late Peter E. & George E. Coulouras. Grandmother of Hope V. Pashos of Winchester, Vaughn C. Misail of Pepperill and Dina M. Mancini of Medford. Great grandmother of Jessica & Luke Pashos and Emelia & Graham Misail. Funeral services will be held the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, corner of Ruggles & Parker St. Boston, on Monday Dec. 23rd at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sunday from 4:00-8:00PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral Preservation Fund or Hellenic Cardiac Fund @ Children's Hospital 300 Longwood Ave. Boston 02111. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery Peabody.
