Vera J. (Jordan) Moriarty died unexpectedly on Wed. Oct. 23rd at the age of 79. She was born and raised in Lawrence, graduated from Lawrence High School, Boston University and received her masters in Education from BU. Vera was a homemaker, she lived in Melrose for 20yrs, 15yrs in Wakefield and the past 10yrs in Reading. Vera was a former member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the BU Alumni Assoc. She was the wife of the late John H. Moriarty Jr. Mother of Jane V. Wardrobe of Andover, Sheila A. Rix of SC, Susan D. Gerson, Patricia M. Lockhart both of NC and John H. Moriarty III of SC. Sister of Claire Spanks, Dorothy LaPlante and Liola Jordan all of Lawrence. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday Oct. 26th at 10:30 AM. Funeral mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. There are no visiting hours.
