Veronica (Donovan) Gooch died at Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday Dec. 18th at the age of 91. She was born and raised in Melrose and has been a lifelong resident. Veronica graduated from St. Mary's Grammar & St. Mary's High School. She was a housewife, worked at Lawson Machine Shop in Malden during WWII and was a member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose. Veronica was the wife of the late Leon O. Gooch. Mother of June M. Materese, Phyllis A. Sacco both of FL, Paul L. Gooch of Brockton, Robert J. Gooch of Winchester, Kenneth B. Gooch of Melrose, Neal G. Gooch of Malden and Gail Coulombe of WA. Also survived by 14 granchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thurs. Dec. 19th at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs. morning from 10:00 -11:00 AM. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
