Victor Robert Restaino passed away suddenly at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Friday morning, May 23, 2014. He was only 28 years of age. Victor was born in Malden on June 30, 1985, was raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School, Bishop Fenwick High School-Class of 2003 and went on to study at Merrimack College and Salem State University. Victor will forever be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit. He had the uncanny ability to lighten up any room with his joy, laughter, and love. Victor's caring and compassionate soul extended to the work that he did for others. He excelled as a case manager, helping people in the health care industry. He worked for Massachusetts Eye & Ear and at the Genzyme Corporation. Victor was a talented artist, and was able to do ANYTHING when it came to technology- most notably when called upon to rescue his Mom 's computer challenges throughout her graduate program. He cherished trips taken with his family to Ogunquit, Maine, Disney World, and especially Aruba. Victor was the beloved son of Robert A. & Diane F. (DiMaria) Restaino. Loving brother of Gina (Restaino) Marian & her husband Matthew Marian of Dorchester Ma. Adored grandson of Victor R. & Lee (Aldorisio) Restaino and the late Peter & Josephine (Polcari) DiMaria. Cherished nephew of Joseph & Anna DiMaria, Nancy & Tom Hardin, Gary Restaino and the late Keith Restaino. Loving great nephew of Barbara Aldorisio, Theresa Lambert, Frank & Susan DiMaria and Jerry Urnetta & his late wife Diana. Also survived by many cherished cousins and friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wednesday, May 28th at 9:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
