Vincent F. Lee died suddenly at home Oct.6th at the age of 86. Vincent was born and raised in Medford, graduated from BC High, Holy Cross College Class of 1937 and received his masters in accounting from Bentley College. Vin has lived in Melrose for the past 46yrs, was a former member of the K of C Melrose and a longtime member of St. Mary's Church. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a Pilot on the hospital planes in the Pacific Theater. Vin worked for a few years in the accounting field before changing careers to food management. He worked for Servomation Company for several years, managed the Village Green Restaurant on Route 1 as well as other restaurants in the area for many years. He also owned and operated Lee Ice Cream Store on W. Wyoming Ave. in Melrose for 8yrs. After retirement Vincent continued to work for the Mystic Valley Elder Service as food site manager at Stoneham Council on Aging for 15yrs. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth M. (Cosgrove) Lee. Father of Robert M. Lee & his wife Nancy of Magnolia, Elizabeth M. Hines & her husband Thomas of Melrose and Kevin M. Lee of N. Andover. Brother of Rita Dooley of Springfield. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. Oct.10th at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery Stoneham.
