Virginia E. "Gini" (Riley/Crowley) Buckley, formerly of South Yarmouth & Melrose, died at the Life Care Center in Stoneham on April 19, 2016 at the age of 92. Gini was born in Malden, raised in Melrose, a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1942 and went on to attend the Melrose Hospital Nursing School. She resided in Melrose until 1971, Malden for 12 years and South Yarmouth for over 20 years. Gini worked as a Financial Analyst for Malden Gas & Electric, New England Electric and retired from National Gird in 1989 after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose and enjoyed going to the beaches of Cape Cod, Newport and Maine. Gini volunteered at her local church in South Yarmouth and loved to play cards and her family & grandchildren were the most important part of her life. Gini was the beloved wife of the late Charles K. Buckley for 40 years. Devoted daughter of the late Chester A. & Mary Riley. Loving mother of George "Skip" Crowley and his Fiancé Kathy Stoddart of Saugus. Cherished grandmother of Keith Crowley of Northbridge and Tracy Croteau & her husband Mike of S. Yarmouth. Great grandmother of Brandon & Vivian Croteau, both of S. Yarmouth. Caring sister of Eleanor Kearns of VA and Chet Riley & his wife Barbara of Boxford. Former mother in law of Debbie Crowley of Medford. Also survived by nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, April 22nd from 4-7PM. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23rd at 8AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Puritan lawn Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
