Virginia N. (Orlianzo) Cangemi passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Friday April 18, 2014. She was only 60 years of age. Virginia was born in Boston on September 15, 1953. She was raised in Malden and graduated Malden High School, Class of 1971 and attended North Shore Community College. Mrs. Cangemi was a homemaker and has been a resident of Melrose since 1992. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, sister and niece who was completely dedicated to her children and always wanted the very best for them. She enjoyed taking trips to Florida, gardening, loved fashion, decorating and going shopping. Mrs. Cangemi was a compassionate person and was always very giving of herself. Virginia was the beloved wife of 38 years to Paul M. Cangemi. Loving mother of Michael Cangemi of Malden, Christina Cangemi of Somerville and Stephen Cangemi of Malden. Daughter of the late Nicholas & Josephine (Cataldo) Orlianzo. Cherished sister of Esther Swansburg & her husband Edward of Lynnfield. Loving niece of Rose Scali of Medford. Also survived by several nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, April 24th at 9:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10:30AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8PM. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
