Ginny Frances Doane, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by dedication, enduring friendships, and a deep love of family and travel.

Ginny was raised in East Bridgewater and Brockton, Massachusetts, where she formed lifelong bonds with friends she remained close to throughout her life. Her warmth and loyalty were evident in the way she stayed connected to those she grew up with, as well as the many colleagues she came to cherish over the years.

She enjoyed a distinguished career with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Boston, serving for more than 25 years as a legislative assistant. In that role, she worked extensively in Washington, D.C., advocating on behalf of the organization with professionalism, intelligence, and commitment. She was respected and admired by those who worked alongside her.

Ginny had a passion for travel and took great joy in exploring Europe and the Caribbean throughout her life. Closer to home, she especially treasured her time at York Beach, Maine, where she created many happy memories over the years.

Since 2012, Ginny made her home at Brooksby Village in Peabody, where she embraced community life and formed many new friendships. She truly enjoyed this chapter of her life and the connections she made along the way.

She is survived by her sister Mary Vecchio of Melrose, her daughter Eileen Stanton of Abington, and her niece Virginia Vecchio of Melrose and nephew Michael Vecchio of Andover. Ginny will be remembered for her kindness, her loyalty to family and friends, and her ability to maintain long-term meaningful relationships throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster Street, Melrose, MA from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, followed by an 11: 00 AM Funeral Mass at St Mary’s Church Herbert Street Melrose, MA. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. Family & Friend's respectfully invited to attend.
