Obituary

Virginia I. (Sherman) Fowle, 89, longtime resident of Melrose, formerly of Malden, died March 1, 2007, at the Life Care Center of Stoneham. She was born in Malden, June 20, 1917 the daughter of the late Ercell & Blanche (Regan) Sherman and graduated from Malden High School. Mrs. Fowle worked at Friends Bean Company in Melrose for a few years and then as a receptionist for the Doctors at Porter St. Professional Building for 15 years. For many years Viriginia was an active member at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Malden and the St. Annes Guild, where she enjoyed crafts. She loved to travel and toured many places in Europe with friends. She also made many trips to California to visit her family there. Mrs. Fowle was the wife of the late J. Clark Fowle. Mother of Nancy L. Willis of Melrose, Dianne LeBreton & her husband Zane of San Diego, CA and Richard Fowle & his wife Linda of Chula Vista, CA. Grandmother of Debra Willis Bry & her husband Robert, Karen Dianne Willis, Julie Fowle, Jonathan & Jennie Foerst. Great grandmother of Virginia, Liam & Erin Bry and. Also survived by one sister, Pauline Slocumb of Wilmington and many nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. March 7th at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 5-8PM. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St. Framingham, 01701.
