Obituary

M. Virginia "Ginny" (Wilband) Quinn, of Melrose, died at her home on Sept. 6, 2010 at the age of 85. Ginny was born & raised in Wakefield and a graduate of Wakefield High School. After high school, she served in the Navy during WWII. Ginny worked as a Bookkeeper for an Accounting Firm in Boston for many years. She resided most of her life in Melrose, 16 years in Malden and had a retirement home in North Conway for 15 years. Ginny was a member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose for many years and shared many happy moments with her family and especially the time with her great grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late James W. Quinn for 44 years. Loving mother of John D. Lawhorne & his wife Doreen of Braintree and Peter G. Lawhorne of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Dennis Lawhorne & his wife Melanie, Mark Lawhorne & his wife Patricia and Patrick & Matthew Lawhorne. Caring great grandmother of Caroline, Cameron, Jack, James, Markie & Brody Lawhorne. Devoted sister of Patricia A. Donovan & her husband John of N. Andover and the late John J. Wilband. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday Sept. 11th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held prior to the mass at the funeral home from 8:30-9:30AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ginny's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
