Warren R. Shepherd, of Melrose, died at the Golden Living Center in Melrose on Dec. 9, 2008 at the age of 97. Warren was born & raised in Somerville and attended Somerville High School. He served in the Army 3rd Infantry during WWII. Warren worked as a Banker for the State Street Bank in Boston for over 40 years before his retirement. He loved golf, bowling, growing tomatoes, going for walks, playing the piano and telling a good joke. Warren enjoyed going to Boston Braves games as a child, was a avid sports fans and of course the Boston Red Sox. He was the loving father of Richard Shepherd & his wife Diane of NH, Charles Shepherd & his wife Cindy of Millis, John Shepherd & his wife Diane of ME, Alice Goddard & her husband Ray of NH, Mary Nardone & her husband Paul Clapp of Southborough and the late Martha Shepherd. Former husband of Janice Marsh Shepherd of NH. Caring brother of Beatrice Murphy of Lexington, Lillian Griffin of Natick and the late Charles, James, John, Raymond, Mary, Mildred and Isabelle. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, 302 Elm St., Everett, on Friday Dec. 12th at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
