William W. Curry passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on February 5, 2015. He was 86 years of age. William was born in Boston on August 23, 1928 to the late William & Grace (Noble) Curry. He was raised in Medford and graduated from Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1946. He served his country with pride in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the DAV. Mr. Curry has been a resident of Melrose since 1965 and was a longtime member of Incarnation Church. William worked as a court reporter for the Federal Government for over 30 years and then continued to free lance as a court reporter after his retirement. He enjoyed taking walks through MT Hood Golf Course in Melrose, was very proud of all his grandchildren. William was the husband of the late Marilyn P. (Carey) Curry. Father of Leslie C. Curry of Malden, Robert J. Curry & his longtime companion Mary Spencer of Saugus, William A. Curry & his wife Susan of Newburyport and Patricia A. Kelliher & her husband Robert of Dracut. Grandfather "Gubby" to Alexandra, Grace & Claudia Curry and Matthew & Emily Kelliher. Brother of Nancy Olsen of VA & Marilyn Brophy of Burlington. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 4:00-7:00Pm. Funeral from Gately Funeral Home on Wednesday Feb. 11th at 10AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 11AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington with military honors.
