William Richard Billy Harris died at home in Stoneham on Thursday, March 2nd, he was 51. Billy was born at Chelsea Naval Hospital, raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School. Mr. Harris lived most of his life in Melrose, San Jose, CA for 10 years and the past 5 years in Wakefield. Billy was an engineering technician for the American Science & Engineering Company of Cambridge, Space Tac of Bedford for several years, Gregory Associates in CA, Analytic Power of Boston and the Tecan Company of Boston & Medford for the past 5 years. He enjoyed vacationing in Freedom NH, photography, cars and computers. He was the beloved son of William J. & Helen T. (Dooley) Harris of Stoneham. Father of Kenneth A. Harris of FL. Brother of Catherine E. Grassello & her husband Joseph of Wakefield, Michael K. Harris & his companion Debbie Beaubier of Rowley and Steven P. Harris & his wife Kristen in IN. Uncle of Nicholas Harris of IN. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. March 7th, at 11:30AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday morning from 9:30-11:30AM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
