William A. Hindon Jr. passed away in Denver, CO on September 5, 2007, he was 84. Mr. Hindon was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1940 and attended Stanford University. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII from 1942 to 1945. After the war he worked for Johns Manville Corporation, in the Residential Products Division as a General Manager & Vice President for 40 plus years. William moved to Greenwood Village, CO in 1975 and has been a resident ever since. Once retired, Bill stayed active in the community serving Denvers Craig Hospital as a member of its board of directors. An avid golfer, he will be fondly remembered by many as the long standing President of Colorado Seniors Golfers Association. Mr. Hindon was the husband of H. Jean (Brown) Hindon. Father of William K. Hindon & his wife Nora of Ringwood, NJ. Grandfather of Scott M. & Mark A. Hindon and their families. Great grandfather of Willow A. Hindon. Uncle of Brenda Karnes, Diane Petrucci, Susan Haskell, Claire Walsh & David Kearney. Predeceased by his parents William & Winifred (Sullivan) Hindon and his brothers & sisters. Also survived by many wonderful friends & neighbors in Colorado & Massachusetts. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. Sept. 11th at 11:30AM.
