William C. "Willie" Horan passed away at his home in Melrose on August 15, 2008, he was 47 years old. Willie was born in Tewksbury, lived in Everett for 20 years, a few years in Lynn and Melrose since 2001. Mr. Horan was disabled all through his life but that did not stop him from helping out. He worked as a volunteer at the Boston Marathon for many years, Muscular Dystrophy, Special Olympics and Boy Scouts, first as a scout and then as a volunteer. Willie was very well known in the Everett community and especially at Everett High School where he was a manager for the football team for 20yrs and also as a referee. The past few years he was a volunteer for the City of Melrose in the Mayor's Office. He liked Boston sports, sports cards, food and listening to his police scanner. Willie was a close friend of John Paul Holland. The Borrelli-Holland family, the Cooperative for Human Services, Everett High Football and the Mayor's Office for the City of Melrose. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 26 Washington St. Malden, on Friday August 22, 2008 at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Melrose.
