William I. Bill MacIndewar, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Jan. 27, 2006 at the age of 71. Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1952. He attended Boston University, with a major in History and a minor in English. Bill was the owner of the Modern Barber Shop on Mass. Ave., in Cambridge for 35 years. He lived in Melrose and was a member of St. Marys Church since 1960. Bill was the beloved husband of Josephine MacIndewar. Loving father of William I. MacIndewar Jr. & his wife Susan and Joseph F. MacIndewar & his wife Carolyn, all of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of William I. III, Abigail and Ania. Also survived by many nephews. Caring brother of the late Ruth A. Silvia. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday Feb. 2nd at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8PM.
