Obituary

William Leo Mulcahy Jr. died at Chelsea Soldiers Home Feb. 27th at the age of 83. William was born and brought up in Winthrop, graduated from Boston Latin High School, Harvard University Class of 1939 and recieved his Masters from Salem State College.He lived in different parts of the World before returning to Massachusetts to live in Lowell for 15yrs and Melrose 3yrs. Bill was a professor at the University of Lowell for 25yrs.. He was a former FBI Agent for 5yrs and also worked for the Treasury Dept. for 10yrs. William was a WWII Army Veteran. He was the brother of Marion A. Chase of Melrose and Barbara Witham of Parker AZ. Also survived by 3 nieces, 2 nephews and several grand nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel 302 Elm St. Everett on Sat. March 10th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday March 9th from 2-7PM. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. WWII Army Veteran. Retired Professor Univ. of Lowell.
