William C. "Billy" Philbrook, Jr. of Lynnfield died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was only 58 years old. Born in Malden on June 6, 1954, he was the son of the late William C. & Helen (Farraher) Philbrook. Billy was raised in Melrose, attended Melrose Public Schools and then worked as a Senior Mechanic with Crest Nissan & Buick of Woburn for 8 years. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, fresh & salt water fishing, surfing, water & snow skiing. Bill loved working on cars and was a past member of the Melrose Elks. He was the devoted husband of Margaret G. "Peggy" (Richard) Philbrook of Lynnfield with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. He was the loving brother of Cheryl A. Botto & her husband John F. of Moultonboro, NH, Wayne W. Philbrook & his wife Donna M. of Wakefield & Donna L. Philbrook of Malden. Brother-in-law of Frederick A. Richard & his wife Venetia of Salisbury. Beloved Uncle of Kimberly, Matthew, Bethany, Lindsey, Stacey, Robin, Melanie, Kyle & Dakota. Also survived by many cousins, dear friend & caregiver Ron Fillmore of Marblehead & his faithful Black Lab Bandie. A Funeral Service will be held in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, August 17th at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8PM. Interment in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
