William F. Reilly passed away at his home in Melrose, on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. He was 64 years of age. William was born in San Diego, CA on June 17, 1945 to the late Robert J. Reilly Sr. & E. Gertrude ((McGough) Reilly. He was raised in Revere, graduated from Revere High School and Bentley College in Waltham. Mr. Reilly was a highly decorated US Marine serving during the Vietnam War as a 1st LT from 1971 to 1973. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart medals. After his discharge from the US Marines he worked as a machinist for the Gillette Company in South Boston for over 25 years. William enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, woodworking and working on projects around his home. Mr. Reilly has been a resident of Melrose for the past 25 years and was a dedicated member of Incarnation Church in Melrose. William was the loving husband of the late Denise B. (Lynch) Reilly. Brother of Robert J. Reilly Jr. of Chelsea. Brother-in-law of Maureen Gross of Swampscott, Clare Lynch of Melrose and Regina Bixby & her husband Bob of Melrose. Uncle of Stephen Gross, Jessica, Matthew & Ryan Bixby. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday April 5th at 10:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in William's memory at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Monday morning from 8:30-10:30AM.
