William J. Sharrio Sr., of Saugus, formerly of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on July 24th at the age of 78. Bill was born & raised in the West End of Boston and graduated Commerce High School, Class of 1942. He went on to receive his degree from Bentley College in 1953 and worked as Accountant in Somerville & Melrose and was a partner in the firm of Burne, Sharrio & Mavilio, P.C. for many years. Bill was a member of the Melrose Knights of Columbus, Elks, Sons of Italy, Kiwanis and the Melrose Fish & Game. He was the beloved husband of Rita L. (Morella) Sharrio. Devoted son of the late Orazio & Rachel Sciarrio. Loving father of William J. Sharrio Jr. & his wife Beverly of Marblehead, Anthony J. Sharrio & his wife Donna of Lynnfield, Carl M. Sharrio & his wife Leslie of Andover and Rachel A. MacMillan & her husband James of Chester, NH. Cherished grandfather of Robert, Jennifer, Morgan, Kevin, Jack, Michael, Matthew and Marra. Devoted Brother of Daniel Sharrio of FL., Teresa Gangi, Barbara Gentile, both of Woburn and the late Isabel OKeeffe, Mary Gangi and Gerard Sciarrio. Caring Brother in-law of Anthony C. Morella, John Morella, both of MD, Patricia Morella Judge of NV and Madeline Morella of Stoneham. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday July 30th at 8AM. Funeral mass at St. Marys Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday July 28th from 7-9PM & Thursday July 29th from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
