Obituary

William R. "Billy" Sullivan passed away suddenly at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Thursday, May 14, 2009. He was 64 years of age. Born in Melrose to the late Leo & Mary (Lucey) Sullivan, he was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1964 and has been a lifelong resident of Melrose. Billy worked for Thor Construction for over 10 years, and for RA Rotondi and D&R Paving as a foreman and dispatcher for 15 years. He persevered thru many injuries throughout his career and never let his illness get the best of him. Mr. Sullivan was a longtime member of the Melrose Elks, was an avid Red Sox & Patriots fan, enjoyed horse racing and loved his trip to the Kentucky Derby a few years ago. Billy was the devoted husband of Ann A. (Constantino) Sullivan. Loving father of Carly A. Sullivan, Cathy M. Sullivan & Timothy L. Sullivan all of Melrose. Beloved brother of Mary Lou Lauria of Revere, John Sullivan of Melrose, Frank Sullivan of Malden and the late Marie McGee, Thomas & Patricia Sullivan. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. May 19th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 330 Congress St. 5th Floor, Boston, 02110.
