William T. "Bill" Turner, of Malden, formerly of Melrose, died at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading on October 17, 2014 at the age of 69. Bill was born in Stoneham, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1963. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After returning from Vietnam, Bill resided in Melrose for 40 years and Malden for the past 28 years. He worked as a Film Processor for Polaroid for 25 years. Bill was a former member of the V.F.W. Harold O' Young Post #2394 in Melrose and also the V.F.W. Post #639 in Malden. He was an avid reader & sports fan and enjoyed reading the daily paper. Bill loved the Boston Red Sox, playing keno and going to Foxwoods. He was the loving son of the late William & Margaret (Lynch) Turner. Caring brother of Patricia Horgan and her late husband Gerard of Dedham, Susan DeCaprio & her husband John of Bedford, Marjorie Novak & her husband Arthur of GA, Mary Lou Weber of NH, Robert E. Turner of Melrose and the late Sheila Toland & her late husband Paul. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Oct. 20th in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose @ 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
