Yanick Baron passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2024, at the age of 72.
Yanick was predeceased by her parents, Renan Austine Baron and Viergela Polynice. Yanick is survived by her three children, Miriam Jean-Philippe Muscadin, her husband Rymonnce Muscadin, Kenny Baron, his wife Ashley Baron, Ronsard Serge Baron, his wife Chaniel Baron, her five grandchildren: Tristan, Naelle, Kensley, Carter, Juliet, and a host of extended family and friends.
Yanick was born and raised in Port au Prince, Haiti. She migrated to the US in the 1980s, making 42 Stanton Street, Boston, Massachusetts her home. Here, in Boston, Yanick worked as a CNA while creating memories with the Baron family. In 1997 she decided to return to Haiti taking her children with her. She was an entrepreneur and lived a peaceful life. In 2006, she moved back to Miami, Florida, and stayed there until her daughter convinced her to return to Massachusetts and live with her in Melrose.
In her final years, Yanick remained with her daughter and dedicated herself to being a loving and caring grandmother to her grandchildren. Yanick instilled the value of family and the faith of God in her children and grandchildren. As a devout follower of the Catholic faith, she ensured her family knew they were always blessed and protected.
Yanick was a long-time parishioner of Saint Matthew Church, Boston, MA , Paroisse Notre Dame De La Medaille Miraculeuse, Port Au Prince, Haiti and Christ the King Church, South Miami, Florida. Sadly, Yanick was diagnosed with cancer in September 2023. Her children remained by her side, committed to making sure that Yanick received the best care possible. She will be remembered for her faith in God and her love for her family.
Yanick will be reposing at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster Street, Melrose, MA 02176. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation on Friday May 31, 2024, from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster Street, Melrose, MA 02176. A Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 AM at Saint Patrick Parish, 71 Central Street, Stoneham, MA 02180 on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Burial will follow in Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan Street MA 02176.
The family invites you to join them following the burial, at the Winchester Elks Lodge, 375 Cambridge Street, Winchester, MA 01890. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster Street, Melrose, MA 02176.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Yanick's name to the American Cancer Association, PO Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
